Shinwa H-3401C Stainless Steel 12 inch/300 mm flexible Rule

This hardened and tempered stainless steel 12"/300mm rule made by Shinwa has a non-glare hard chrome coating and both Metric and Imperial graduations and is model H-3401C.   It has dimensions of 12 in x 0.47" x 0.020"/300 mm x 12 mm x 0.5 mm and is made from SUS420J2 Stainless Steel. The black graduations are first photo etched and then colored using a black chrome plating process to create an easy to read marking that is much more durable than paint or ink marking using a laser.

Shinwa have almost 90% of the market share in Japan for precision rules.  They have both JIC and JCSS certification and their rules are made to the requirements of JIS B7516 Grade 1.  The length accuracy of the graduations at 20°C is ±0.15 mm (0.006") for rules up to 500 mm in length.  

A very good value in a precision ruler with graduations in 1/32" and 1/64" scales and 1 mm and 0.5 mm scales.
