This taper gauge from Shinwa is a very useful tool for making a variety of measurements including size of dados, holes, pipes, gaps etc, between 15 and 30 mm.  It can also be used to quickly set up plunge depths on drill presses and routers.  When using the gauge to measure gaps between parallel surfaces the reading is read directly from the gauge and when measuring diameter, a correction is applied using the table on the back of the gauge to compensate for the thickness of the gauge.

The gauge is made from hardened stainless steel and it has an accuracy of ±0.05 mm for measuring gaps or inside diameters.
