Narex Mortise Chisels are made in the Czech Republic and are an exceptional value for the price. The blades are made from fine-grained, chrome-manganese steel, hardened to HRC 59, and hold an excellent edge. The blades are accurately ground robust tools used for chopping out mortises.
The sides are tapered in height and lengthwise from tip to shoulder to provide sidewall clearance which helps prevent the chisel from binding in the mortise. The handles are made from stained beech with a steel ring on the butt end to prevent splitting from heavy mallet blows.
