This Radius Plane is curved both along and across its sole. It is specifically designed for shaping the seat of a Windsor Chair or other tasks that the radius of the sole will suit.

  • Radius along length of sole is 9".

  • Radius across the width of the sole is 3”.

  • It is 5 1/8” long x 2 3/16” wide x 1 1/2” high.

  • Weighs 1 lb.

  • Option of an O1 Tool Steel ( O1 TS) blade hardened to RC 62-64 OR a High Speed Steel (HSS) Blade hardened to RC 62.

  • Blade pitch of 55 degrees for superior results on hard, difficult, or reversing grain.

  • Blade is reversible to bevel up, effectively creating a blade pitch of 85 degrees, allowing the plane to be used as a scraper. You get two tools in one!

  • The HSS is ideal if you plan to reverse the plane to bevel up and use it as a scraper on difficult grain because it will hold up better under heat. However, it will take longer to sharpen.

  • The blade is 1/8 " thick x 1 1/2" wide.

  • Made from Gidgee, a very dense and stable Australian wood.
